Andy and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary this weekend!
We dont have the time to do anything major like taking a trip, so we took a road trip instead. We visited the Ella Sharpe Art Museum in Jackson, Michigan and planned on visiting the Cascade park there as well, but it wasn't opened yet.

Jackson is such a strange town.  Used to be a bustling city and the architecture is beautiful and old and very picturesque, but its struggled since the 1970's and is somewhat depressing to drive through as it has so much potential that isn't being realized.

After our "trip" we went home and made homemade soy free pizza, drank too much champagne and watched "Crazy Heart" with Jeff Bridges, Colin Farrell and Maggie Gyllenhall.  Loved it.

Here are a few of the 100's of pics we took:

Andy finally uploaded his camera phone photographs.  I know this is a big trend lately, especiall with the iphone and it's supremely cool camera, but Andy's Blackberry is plenty drool worthy...thanks to his amazing eye:

February Snow Storm...

Another 6 inches fell two nights ago...sigh.  It's very pretty, but I what I wouldn't give to not live where it's cold more than half of the year.
On my drive to the doctors, I kept pulling over my car to take picures of all the prettiness.  Luckily, I didn't get stuck in a snow bank. :-)

The shop is still slow going, but Im trying to list new prints regularly and have now had 8 sales!  whoot!  I am loving the fact that photos I take that dont fit anywhere else seem to fit perfectly in bird and bloke...well, most of the time.
Anyway, here are a few images from yesterday...some available in shop:

Bored at home? maybe a still life photo shoot is just what the doctor ordered

I am trapped in my house for the next 2 weeks after having an emergency appendectomy Friday morning.  It's terribly boring, so other than surfing the web, playing board games with my Olive and pacing the floor, I have been grabbing props and holding mini photo shoots throughout the day, whenever I can muster up enough energy

I wish I had more props, but I cant go out and get any, so I have to make due with what I have around the house...old books, flowers, jewelry, binoculars, chairs, buttons...
Here are a few images I took today...

More night bokeh and the years largest moon..

I think I can be officially stamped a night bokeh addict.  I just cant help myself.  Im fascinated with not only the bokeh, but even more the play of movement, light and shadows.  Plus, its a lot of fun to shoot and what shows up on my camera never fails to surprise me.

Of course, the night of the largest moon of the year I am out and about, but not with any lens that could capture its size and beauty.  I did get these 2 sad images though.
Did any of you capture it or witness it?  It was truly grand!

New work...

We have several new things in our shop...these are just a few of them.  Its been slow going, but I ordered some prints this week and they look amazing!  We are printing through whcc, which deal only with professional photographers and use beautiful archival papers and inks.
All of these, and more, are available at http://birdandbloke.etsy.com.

Some objects just seem to photograph beautifully.  Old typewriters, vintage cameras, vintage fans, suitcases and of course pianos.

I love train tracks...the idea of going somewhere new...or going home...

My new favorite.  I love this so much I think I will frame it and hang it myself :-)

C O L O R

We have added some color photos to the shop!  All black and white is simply too limiting, especially for me...I love color!
The shop, which is here by the way:::: Bird and Bloke :::::, is a bit slow going.  I am running 2 other shops and those are top priority right now as they actually bring sales!  So, Im adding to Bird and Bloke, and doing a little promoting, but not a whole lot.  There just aren't enough hours in the day.  I do love having a shop with my hubs though, and doing it together makes me (and him!) very happy.  So, I plan on keeping it going for now, anyway.

So, here are a few new photographs we have for sale in color...enjoy!
